In phpMyAdmin, I very often get "No activity within 1440 seconds; please log in again". Is it possible to increase this time limit locally, (not globally) ?

Yes, you can change this in phpMyAdmin under
Settings->Features->General->Login cookie validity and set the time to: 36000 |
