Absortech offers a number of different desiccants to protect products from moisture damage during transportation.

Why You Need Moisture Protection

The root cause of moisture damage in container transport is the simple fact that warm air can hold more moisture than cold air. Take the dewy grass in the morning after a cool summer night as an example. Moisture gets into the air in the container from the outside or by evaporation from the cargo. When the temperature in the container changes damaging moisture conditions arise. The only remedy is to keep the air inside the container dry. Desiccants (substances that remove moisture from the air) control the moisture level in containers, crates, boxes and so on.

Container Desiccants

Absortech container desiccants are based on Calcium Chloride and have a vigorous absorption over a large temperature range. They are designed to hang inside containers utilizing minimal space. Our container desiccant product range includes Absorpole, Absorbag & Absortop (Registered Trademarks)

Box Desiccants

Our Esorb (Registered Trademark) product range is designed to protect either inside or outside the packaging box or inside a product (shoe, handbag). Choose from several different sorbents such as Montmorillonite clay, mineral and fiber.

Absorvent

The Absorvent i(Registered Trademark) is not an absorber, but a product designed to limit the amount of ventillation in the container. For the time being it is used only in some special applications.
